Boy Scouts seeking clothing donations

The annual Boy Scout Good Turn will be held during the week of Feb. 6-13.

During this material drive, local Boy Scout troops will collect donations of gently-used clothing and other items from friends, family and neighbors and donate them to their local Goodwill. Participating Boy Scouts will earn a patch for their efforts and community service.

All proceeds from donations will directly benefit the mission of Goodwill Industries-Knoxville, Inc. to provide vocational services and employment opportunities for people with barriers to employment. In 2008, Goodwill Industries-Knoxville, Inc. assisted more than 3,000 individuals, trained over 1,000 in community service and experienced over 500 positive program closures.
