Who will be the next commissioners?

By Martha Woodward

Who will be the next Knox County Commissioners? The first step in the process is for candidates to pick up a petition from the Knox County Election Commission. Next, the petition must be signed by 25 registered voters and returned to the KCEC by the filing deadline which is 2/18/2010.

A Primary Election in which voters are required to register as either a  Democrat, Republican, or Independent and may only vote once for a candidate in the party they pick, will be held on May 4, 2010. The candidates who win in the Primary Election move forward to square off against the others who were picked by their parties to run in the General Election which will be held in August.

As of this week, these are the candidates who have picked up petitions, gathered signatures, and returned their petitions.
