The University of Tennessee Medical Center recently named Peggy Hotz as
vice president of the Center for Women and Children’s Health.
In that role, Hotz will provide executive leadership at the medical
center while developing strategies and tactics to further strengthen
the patient care and services offered to women and children throughout
the community.
“Peggy Hotz is an outstanding addition to our team at The
University of Tennessee Medical Center because she brings more than 25
years of leadership in women’s and children’s
services to this position,” said David Hall, senior vice
president and chief operating officer at UT Medical Center.
“Peggy’s combined work experience, education and
nursing background make her the perfect fit for understanding the
precise needs required for the delivery of unparalleled patient
care.”
Prior to joining the medical center, Hotz spent four years as the
service line director for Maternal Child Health at Gwinnett Medical
Center in Lawrenceville, Georgia. Other previous work experience
includes more than 20 years in various leadership positions in
women’s and children’s health services at Crawford
Long Hospital and West Paces Medical Center, both in Atlanta.

“I look forward to working with the medical center to provide
the best possible care to mothers, children and their families in the
region. Our efforts in clinical research, academic medicine and

priority in meeting our mission to the community.”
A registered nurse, Hotz received her nursing degree from Petersburg
General Hospital School of Nursing in Petersburg, Va. She went on to
earn her MBA from the Coles School of Business at Kennesaw State
University in Kennesaw, Ga.
Hotz is a member of numerous professional organizations, including the
East Tennessee Healthcare Executives Association, Tennessee
Organization of Nurse Executives, American College of Healthcare
Executives, American Organization of Nurse Executives and Association
of Women’s Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses. Her
volunteer activities in Georgia are extensive and are continuing here
in East Tennessee, as Hotz already is working with the March of Dimes
on various projects. Other volunteer activities include board
affiliations with Georgia Perinatal Association, Healthy Mothers,
Health Babies Coalition of Georgia and EMBARK Advisory Board, Coles
School of Business, Kennesaw State University.
Hotz moved from the Atlanta area to West Knoxville, where she lives
with her husband, Bill. The couple has three grown children, Stephen,
Caroline and Katherine. The Hotz’ attend All Saints Catholic
Church in Knoxville. In her spare time, Peggy Hotz enjoys reading,
travel and photography.
